About us
Changing The Odds Guided Support is a community-focused organisation committed to supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges, recovery journeys, and complex life circumstances.
Established in 2017, the organisation was built on lived experience and a deep understanding of life’s challenges and the barriers many people face when navigating support systems. This foundation shapes a compassionate, culturally respectful, and person-centred approach to the work we do.
Changing The Odds recognises that healing, growth, and wellbeing are influenced by many aspects of a person’s life. Our supports take a holistic approach, recognising the importance of culture, values, community, identity, and lived experience in supporting long-term positive change.
We also recognise that many individuals seeking support may have experienced barriers within traditional systems or difficulty accessing the help they need. Our work focuses on creating safe and supportive spaces where people feel heard, respected, and supported to move forward in their lives.
Through mentoring, community engagement, and personalised support, Changing The Odds works alongside individuals to strengthen wellbeing, build independence, and reconnect with culture, identity, and community.
At the heart of our work is a belief that every person deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life, rediscover their strengths, and create a positive future.
